An Elegant Summer Wedding at Castle Statenberg in Slovenia
Slovenia / Statenberg Castle
Katarina & Marko
Pre-Ceremony & Arrival
The wedding day of Katarina and Marko at Castle Statenberg began on a warm August afternoon. Guests arrived at the baroque estate between mid afternoon, greeted by the historic atmosphere and romantic charm of the courtyard. The mood was relaxed yet full of anticipation for the celebration ahead.
The Courtyard Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the castle’s courtyard, right next to the water fountain. It was an intimate setting, surrounded by the rich architecture of the castle, creating a timeless backdrop. After heartfelt vows, the couple was congratulated with champagne and warm embraces from their family and friends.
Portraits & Reception
Once the toasts were complete, we took time for portraits around the estate, making the most of the golden summer light and the castle’s grand details. By early evening, the celebration moved into the marquee tent where dinner and speeches unfolded.
Marko opened the evening with his speech before the first dance, which set the tone for a night of joy, laughter, and togetherness. Later, both witnesses shared their stories, adding a personal and emotional touch.
The Evening & Fireworks
As dinner progressed, the bride surprised guests with a stunning outfit change, adding a fresh spark to the evening atmosphere. At midnight, the courtyard came alive once again as the couple cut their wedding cake surrounded by torches and fireworks – a spectacular finale to a beautifully planned day.
For me, weddings like this highlight everything I love about photographing weddings: elegance, thoughtful details, and unforgettable moments in unique locations.
A special thank you to my friends Matic and Maja from Yes Films Weddings for capturing this day so beautifully on film. It’s always a joy to work alongside such talented creatives who share the same passion for storytelling.
