A quiet Monday morning, crystal-clear lakes and one unforgettable question in the Italian Alps.
Italy / Tarvisio / Volterra / Laghi di Fusine
Sabina & Bart
Hidden among the mountains of northeastern Italy, Laghi di Fusine is one of the most beautiful places for a surprise proposal. With its emerald lakes, dramatic alpine backdrop and peaceful surroundings, it offers a setting that feels almost untouched.
To make the moment as private as possible, we planned everything in advance and chose a Monday morning, when the area is usually much quieter. It turned out to be the perfect decision. Apart from the couple and myself hiding nearby with the camera, the lakes were completely empty.
When the moment arrived, Bart got down on one knee and asked Sabina to marry him. She happily said yes, and after taking a few moments to enjoy the occasion together, we spent the next hour exploring the area for a relaxed engagement session.
Around the Lakes
After the proposal, we wandered around both the southern and northern lakes before finishing beneath the towering mountain peaks. Without crowds and with calm conditions, Laghi di Fusine truly showed why it’s considered one of Italy’s most spectacular locations for proposals and engagement photography.
